• A one-hundred sixty-three bed not-for-profit hospital in Eastern Kentucky, that had four physician practice sites, was gross billing just a little over one million dollars each month, but their net collections were less than $200,000 a month. Our experienced team went in, assessed the situation, and identified several process errors. We were ultimately awarded the contract to do billing and revenue cycle management for them, bringing their average net collections per month to more than $800,000 per month over the following three years.
• One of our consultants managed a network of multi-specialty clinics owned by a 50-hospital system, where he identified more than 1.1 million dollars in bad-debt write-off. He and the billing staff put together a plan to track down possible reimbursements for those write-offs, and in just over 10 months successfully collected over $840,000 of money that had already been counted lost.
• A FQHC in Kentucky contracted with us to oversee an EMR installation. Crown successfully contacted the potential vendors and presented them with RFPs, and vetted the top 3 EMR companies, assuring a successful implementation specific to the needs of that practice. During this process, Crown saved the practice more money than the cost of Crown’s professional services.
• In Central Kentucky, a small single-provider practice was struggling with billing and collections. He was billing just under $40,000 each month, but he was collecting less than 25% of that number. His CPA contacted Crown to see if we could assist in the matter, and within three months of starting a contract with us, he had a gross collection rate of nearly 70%.
